Katharine Wheeler


Katharine is responsible for the overall operation of WWDN, developing alliances and creating connections while representing the network, and creative placemaking more broadly, at a local, national and international level. 

Katharine has a background in social arts practice and is passionate about collaborative, inclusive place work that nurtures grassroots skills.

Andrew Furlonger

Membership Manager

Responsible for the WWDN membership, Andrew works with the team to support our members to grow and develop the network, ensuring that it works in the best way possible for them. 

Andrew brings to the team a background in business development and account management, early stage startups and social enterprises among others.

Kevin Stewart

Communications & Marketing Director

Playing a key advisory role within WWDN, Kevin is responsible for the strategic direction of the Creative Placemaking Network, focusing on the communication, marketing and stakeholder engagement provision.

Responsible for leading, managing and developing the WWDN team, Kevin brings his experience from a 15 year career in international brand marketing to WWDN, and supports creative placemaking projects with strategy planning, brand development and PR.

Robbie Henderson

Web & Data Manager

Robbie is WWDN’s resident tech hero. Responsible for the day-to-day management and security of the WWDN website, technical management of hardware and software, and membership CRM systems.

Through his project work, Robbie uses creativity and technology to enhance the social and cultural life of his home town and across the wider region. He also serves as a Data Protection Officer, ensuring that WWDN complies with the relevant data protection laws and regulations.

Erin Aitchison

Marketing Officer

Erin works collaboratively with the team to deliver WWDN’s communication and campaigns across a suite of digital assets including social media, email and website content.

A detailed planner, Erin uses creativity in her approach to all communications she coordinates for WWDN and supports various creative and community-led projects with skilfully designed digital marketing campaigns.

Wren Winters (they / them)

WWDN Digital Coordinator

Wren works within our WWDN Digital project, coordinating and managing systems, supporting our members to develop and deliver their WWDN Digital project itineraries.

Passionate about co-creation, Wren enjoys engaging communities with grass-roots research and development initiatives, utilising their knowledge in Sustainable Tourism and Global Challenges.

WWDN Associates

WWDN draws on a pool of associates to bring bespoke expertise and additional capacity across the network. Associates work with the WWDN team to: 

  • Facilitate training sessions e.g. financial planning, project proposals, creative development or organisational structure;
  • Provide fundraising support and/or fundraise for particular parts of the network programme e.g. labs; 
  • Join consultancy teams commissioned to work on creative placemaking projects;
  • Support resource creation e.g write case studies, review templates 
  • Design and implement research strands;
  • Lead on evaluation and impact assessment of network activity and creative placemaking methodology.

The Stove

The WWDN Network draws on support from The Stove core team for governance, creative development, financial management, HR, marketing and IT.

The Advisory Group

The Advisory Group supports the WWDN network to identify priority themes and collaborative opportunities for the network across sectors.

It is made up of network members (practitioners and organisational) together with representatives from across other sectors connected to placemaking work in Dumfries & Galloway.
