Sanquhar Camera Collective London Visit

In April, the Sanquhar Camera Collective traveled to London to visit the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition at Summerset House.

This is one of the worlds leading free photography competitions and an opportunity for young collective members to see this year’s best imagery across many different subjects, including architecture, sports, abstract, environment, and much more.

The collective was initiated as part of the What We Do Now project and is made up of a group of five young budding photographers and filmmakers and What We Do Now artists, Colin Tennant and Saskia Coulson.

“Everyone in the collective has a unique eye and varying interest in photography. Going to an internationally recognised exhibition such as the Sony World Photography Awards allows each member to explore their own passion and see what is considered cutting-edge image-making in these fields. Not only did we see wonderful images but we also tasked the group with exploring their own street photography skills while we were in the great city of London.”

The images taken as part of this trip build on the collective’s growing portfolio of work.
